Frequently Asked Questions

My child is P6 this year and has no Robotics or Coding experience. Can he still qualify for DSA?
If your child is in P6 this year, there is no more chance for him/ her to participate in the Robotics Competition as all the competition preparation will required at least 4-5 months of practice. It will be too late to be used for DSA application.
Is it a must to participate in a Robotics competition for DSA application?
While most schools do require a certificate of participation from a Robotics competition as part of the DSA application, winning an award is not a strict necessity. Minimal participation in a recognized competition is often sufficient, but having an award can certainly improve the chances of success. The key is to demonstrate active involvement and a strong interest in Robotics.
What is the ideal age to participate in Robotics Competition and then use it to apply for DSA?
We recommend students aged 9 to 11 as the ideal stage to participate in Robotics Competitions.
My child is only P2 this year. Is it too early to consider for his DSA?
It’s a good idea to start planning and observing your child’s interests from a young age. Starting robotics at P2 is beneficial, but it’s more practical to consider DSA when your child is in P4 or above. P2 is still early, as their interests may shift by the time they approach P6.
What is the success rate of your students' DSA applications?
While we have many success stories, we understand that some parents may not update us on the outcome of their child’s DSA application. Therefore, while we can confidently share that many of our students have succeeded, the exact success rate may not be fully reflected due to the lack of consistent updates from all families.

Workshop Outlines

Junior Robotics

(Ages 5-6)

To allow children to express their interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with an introduction to computational thinking through a basic robotics coding project.

Exploratory Robotics

(Ages 7-9)

Develop knowledge and application of STEM principles to improve robotics coding. Gain further computational skills in artificial intelligence, such as machine learning.

Mastery Robotics

(Ages 10-13)

Children will be equipped to solve more sophisticated real-world problems and develop creative thinking skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the difference between holiday workshop and weekly classes?
Holiday workshop for Meta Robotics is a 3 days 3-hours session. In this 3 hours, the students will be doing 2 projects per day. So effectively, they will be doing 6 projects during each holiday workshop. This is equivalent to taking up 6 weekly lessons.
Can they bring home the LEGO models they made during the workshop?
Unfortunately not. Our educational tools are not for sales. Students will get to use a full LEGO organizer and its coding hubs worth $400-$800 throughout the workshop duration.
Why are they doing so many different type of robotics and coding activities in 3 days workshop? Can they cope with it?
We believe in exposing the students to different type of Robotics and coding related activitties. Some children demonstrate better motor skills and spatial reasoning while others are stronger in computational thinking. All the activities are planned deliberately to enable a holistic Robotics and coding experience. While some children may enjoy certain activities more than the rest, others may prefer the opposite but their learning experience will be unforgettable. Many of our past holiday students always come back for more such activities.
